The year is 1943. In the mountains of Persia, a small brown bear stands on the banks of a river, near where his mother was killed by greedy hunters. After a few days, he is sold to Polish soldiers to the 22nd Artillery Supply Company, who name him Wojtek. As he grows up, the bear cub has to learn new skills and adapt to the uncomfortable conditions of war. When the fighting at the front becomes more and more difficult, Wojtek experiences for himself how terrible war is. He decides to do his best and help his companions to prove to them that he is a valuable soldier and that they can rely on him.
